Selling an RV is not a simple task. You need to consider a few things before putting the vehicle up for resale. Opting for a dealer might appear simple but the dealer’s fee might set you back by a few thousand dollars. Meanwhile, selling your RV privately might seem a tad time consuming but it could eventually fetch you a great deal without you having to shell out much. LEGAL FORMALITIES:

You can’t just put your RV up for sale and not think of the legal ramifications. Each state in the US has its different set of rules on how they want buyers and sellers to deal with vehicle transactions. In general, being a seller you must ensure that you have some crucial legal documents including the ownership title (also called Clear title), damage disclosure statement and bill of sale in place. Bill of sale: This is a simple form that you are asked to fill indicating who the buyer is and how much the price agreed upon is.

Once you have taken care of the legal formalities, you need to focus on setting the price of your vehicle. The value of a recreational vehicle depends on many things including:—

Detailed description of the vehicle is the most important part when selling your RV. Remember, the price is what draws people’s attention, but the description and photos are what causes them to react. List out the model no, mileage, engine size, purchase year and any add-ons that make your vehicle stand out. You must also take high resolution photos of the RV covering every possible nook and corner, not only the décor but also the engine compartment, odometer reading and the things that you have mentioned in your description.
